Logistics Coordinator

Element5 is seeking a dedicated and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team in St Thomas. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a critical role in interfacing with internal and external customers, carriers/brokers, installers, and our customs broker. Your responsibilities will include scheduling shipments, communicating with clients and installers, and coordinating with the internal shop floor and load planning teams to ensure timely and efficient load plans.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Pricing, Scheduling, and Tracking of Loads (40%): Ensure loads are scheduled according to agreed dates, achieve the best price without compromising service levels, and communicate any delays promptly.
  • Release of Load Plans (20%): Collaborate with load planners to track load plan progress, ensure accuracy, and release appropriate copies to the floor.
  • Interfacing with Customers/Installers (15%): Work alongside the program manager to maintain clear communication lines regarding trucking schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Interfacing with the Shop Floor (15%): Support Production Supervisors in tracking and releasing load plans to the floor, resolving any issues related to loading practices.
  • Other Duties as Required (10%): Assist with other duties as directed by the department head.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP experience, negotiation skills, and knowledge of the transport industry preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with transportation, logistics, customs & brokerage, and the construction or building industry preferred.
  • Degree in Materials Management/Operations or related field is beneficial.


Working Conditions:

  • Physical Effort: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Physical Environment: Exposure to dust and noise.
  • Sensory Attention: Significant time spent in front of a computer monitor and walking on the shop floor around moving equipment.
