PrecisionERP is seeking a highly-capable and hands-on Technical Project Manager to work with one of our key clients. The Project Manager will be working closely with the D365 Team and reporting to the Program Management Office. The Project Manager will be dedicated to multiple project teams supporting our client's D365 implementation of the Supply Chain and Finance modules.

The successful candidate will be considered a project management expert, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and a drive to deliver this program.

We need individuals that demonstrate excellent teamwork and facilitation skills. They will be responsible to understand and enforce the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team while promoting self-management and constantly improving standards.

Duration: One year (12 months), with possible extension for another 12 months

Location:

The role is Hybrid in Ottawa, ON - onsite once a week for whiteboard, teamwork, etc; also, one full week each quarter for a team work session.

Local candidates are preferable but our client may consider a candidate from out of town, but they would still need to be onsite in Ottawa when necessary

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for a Canadian Federal Secret clearance (Living and working in Canada for the previous 10 years) or ideally already has a Secret Federal Clearance.
  • Solid experience with and strong technical understanding of Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 / D365 ideally with the specific Finance and Operations Modules, and/or Data Migration (one project would suffice)
  • Experience with other ERPs of a similar nature
  • Would require superb communication skills, since this involves interacting with high level technical and non-technical audiences, dealing with high level executives, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of an organization's development platform and languages.
  • Previous experience on Agile projects, big transformations, and having a technical and tactical mindset.

Responsibilities

Liaison & Communication

  • Serve as liaison between IT, Vendor and Business teams.
  • Communicate with other D365 Program management, IT Leadership and technical support specialists on product issues.
  • Escalate to the Program Director with recommendations for simplification of work streams when program issues cannot be resolved within the team.

Development

  • Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, ceremonies and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress.
  • Working with the IT Business Analysts to ensure the maintenance of business process documentation.
  • Ensure the team members are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

Application Support

  • Assist as needed with backlog maintenance.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects / bugs.

Management

  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevents distractions.
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Empower the team to self-organize.
