Are you a Commercial Lines Specialist looking for the next step in your insurance career?


We are currently partnering with an independent insurance brokerage based in Toronto. With over 100 years in the Canadian marketplace, they are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and value through their bespoke insurance solutions for businesses, individuals and financial services.


As a Commercial Lines Specialist, you will be working with Producers and other team members in providing client service, and developing successful working relationships with clients and brokers.


RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Negotiating and placing new business, renewals and remarkets
  • Providing formal binding and renewal instructions to underwriters for agreed coverages
  • Issuing binder of insurance pending receipt of policy and invoice
  • Evaluating marketing submissions and making recommendations for revisions
  • Recording new business activity in monthly logs and updating as required
  • Providing liability cards, application and commercial vehicle supplement
  • Ordering endorsements from insurers when client or producer requests change to policies
  • Receiving phone calls from clients and dealing with queries, documenting correspondence and transactions in the system database
  • Assisting with balancing portfolios with attention given to market share, mix of business and particular appetites of various insurers
  • Other projects and duties as needed and requested by management


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Commercial Lines
  • RIBO License is required
  • Existing knowledge of insurance products, industry regulations and underwriting processes is an asset
  • Experience with insurance software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • This is a hybrid position; applicants must be able to work 3 days per week at the downtown Toronto office location
