Cella is seeking a passionate and experienced Employee Program Designer to join our client for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. As a key member of their team, you will provide strategic experience design framing, planning, and support to partners with the goal of designing employee experiences and solutions that strike the perfect balance between end-user desirability and business impact. This is a hybrid role which requires 2-3 days per week at our client's office in downtown Toronto.


Day to Day Tasks:

  • Design Strategy and Planning: Provide strategic experience design framing, planning, and support to partners.
  • Research and Analysis: Plan and support employee-centered design research activities to identify opportunities and map out ideal future experiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, fellow designers, and the broader HR team to provide direct guidance, expertise, and coaching on experience design.
  • Champion Solutions: Advocate for employee-centered business solutions that resonate with employees and drive desired performance and business outcomes.
  • Communication: Develop and deliver strategic presentations that tell compelling stories, including writing, image curation, and designing visual information in an engaging manner.


Your Qualifications:

  • Curiosity and Passion: A deep interest in learning about people, behavior, and motivations.
  • Strategic Experience: Proven experience in creating design strategies that empower the business while keeping user needs at the forefront.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in a variety of design methodologies, including Service Design, UX Research, workshop design & facilitation, and UX/UI.
  • Problem-Solving: Comfortable tackling ambiguous problems in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to switch between detailed data analysis and the bigger picture.
  • Research Synthesis: Capable of transforming research into clear, persuasive insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Design Execution: Skilled in creating, selling, and executing design strategies and research approaches suitable for various engagements.
  • Facilitation: Experienced in facilitating cross-functional collaboration, aligning perspectives, and fostering shared ownership among stakeholders.
  • Coaching and Leadership: Able to guide teammates through ambiguity, defining milestones and activities to drive progress.
  • Trust Building: Establish trust and create environments where employees feel safe to share experiences.
  • Innovation: Comfortable challenging the status quo and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Storytelling: Excellent storytelling and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Educational Background: Graduate degree in Design, Psychology, Human Factors, Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience.
