Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and versatile professional to join our team as the Project Manager, Nuclear Production Line for a critical new production cell project. This role will oversee and coordinate all shop floor projects, including the preparation and arrival of new machinery, production ramp-up, and efficient material flow within the production cell. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in project management, operations management, and production scheduling to ensure the successful launch and ongoing operation of the new cell.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Machinery Coordination and Shop Floor Preparation:

  • Coordinate the arrival and installation of new CNC machinery for the production cell.
  • Schedule and oversee all preparatory activities, including relocation of existing machinery to other areas of the shop., ensuring the support infrastructure for the new machines is complete, leading requirements for permits required including foundation permits, infrastructure permits, etc.
  • Manage and schedule all shop floor moves with relevant stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
  • Address any facility requirements necessary to support the new machinery or shop floor moves.

2. Production Ramp-Up and Resource Planning:

  • Develop and manage the production schedule for the new production cell.
  • Plan resources to ensure smooth operations, including personnel, tools, and materials.
  • Collaborate with engineering and CNC programming teams to meet customer requirements and optimize processes.

3. Production Flow and Process Optimization:

  • Ensure efficient production flow from material placement in the cell through machining, inspection, and documentation.
  • Coordinate the availability of all necessary materials, including shipping boxes, storage solutions, and packaging for customers.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve production bottlenecks.

4. Proving Out New Parts and Processes:

  • Oversee the prove-out process for new parts on the new machinery, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and CNC programmers to meet customer specifications.
  • Implement improvements based on feedback during the prove-out phase.

5. Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all shop floor-related projects, coordinating with production, engineering, quality, and other departments.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to align on schedules, expectations, and project timelines.


Work Environment:

This position will be based on the shop floor, requiring close collaboration with production teams and frequent coordination with engineering, quality, and logistics. Occasional overtime or extended hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or College degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, production scheduling, and/or manufacturing operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and production flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex shop floor moves and machinery installations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of production scheduling software and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with facility and infrastructure requirements for CNC machinery.
  • Proven experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
