Position located in St. Catharines at the Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery


As the International Business Development Associate, you will play a vital role in expanding our portfolio of international wines, spirits, beers and RTD within the Ontario market, specifically working with the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). You will be responsible for managing key relationships with international partners, navigating the LCBO's processes, and ensuring successful administrative duties of new and existing products. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the beverage alcohol industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Market Development & Partner Management: Collaborate with international partners to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the LCBO market. This includes researching emerging markets and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
  • LCBO Program Management: Manage the entire LCBO product submission process, including applying for programs, submitting accurate sales forecasts, and creating compelling brand presentations that meet LCBO requirements.
  • Pricing & Forecasting: Utilize pricing calculator models to determine retail pricing strategies and input data into forecasting tools to project sales volumes.
  • Communication & Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between international suppliers and the LCBO, ensuring timely and effective communication on all matters, including resolving any issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Order Processing & Inventory Management: Process weekly orders, maintain clear communication with the winery warehouse, and distribute weekly Narrowcast inventory reports to domestic suppliers.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Maintain a thorough understanding of LCBO labeling and packaging requirements to ensure all products meet regulatory standards.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Accurately input and manage data within forecasting and CRM tools to track performance and generate reports.
  • Buyer & Supplier Meetings: Schedule and attend meetings with LCBO buyers and international suppliers to present new products, discuss business opportunities, and foster strong working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an adminstration role
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience with international business and cross-cultural communication is an asset.
