Twenty-three years ago, Veritas Investment Research flipped the equity research model on its head - instead of giving away research and making money through banking relationships, we used our independence to produce high-quality research that we could sell to clients. As the Business Development Representative, you will be integral in the growth of the company’s mutual funds by paving the road with new IIROC broker dealers outside of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. Your focus will also be geared towards establishing new connections with IIROC Investment Advisors, family offices and institutional clients, converting them into long-term investors.
Key responsibilities:
- Build effective relationships with defined Investment Advisor groups, Family Offices and Institutional Clients across the country.
- Generate a continuous cycle of sales and marketing activities, such as educational and business promotional events.
- Attend industry and intermediary events to grow presence in the marketplace.
- Prepare for and book branch presentations and advisor and prospect meetings.
- Produce illustrations, product proposals and fund comparisons.
- Organize and execute e-marketing campaigns based on email open rates from clients and prospects.
- Create sales reports and report all observations to the executive team.
- Tackle service issues for all existing clients and provide feedback that may help to develop and market the overall business.
- Make sales and strategy recommendations to the VP of Sales based on independent analysis and assessment of strategic issues Page 2 of 2.
- Achieve sales objectives by executing on the strategic initiatives developed internally by the sales team.
- Maintain current client records in Salesforce (i.e. Outbound, Inbound Calls, as well as Meetings and Events.
- Adhere to all compliance, regulatory, confidentiality and legal policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum Canadian Securities Course (CSC), other industry credentials given preference.
- Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of mutual funds, alternative funds, ETFs, and capital markets.
- Advanced understanding of various distribution channels: IIROC, MFDA, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills; ability to initiate investigation of problems without supervision and develop solutions.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate tact and professionalism.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in the Asset Management business or brokerage/financial planning industries.
