They are looking for a Human Resources Manager for their Durham Region location. This is a tremendous career opportunity for an experienced, customer focused and results-driven HR leader to join a global organization.


Roles & Responsibilities:

The HR Manager position provides day to day support in the administration of Benefits, SAP, WINPAK security system, Paradigm and month end reporting. Provides leadership in the area of our safety program & administration. The position will also perform backup payrolls. This position requires a high level of accuracy, exposure to confidential information, and extensive contact with individuals both internally and externally. Position will also support other locations in Canada. Position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of company policies as set forth in the company policy manual and enforces, educates when necessary.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Prepares offer letters and new hire packages.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Provides knowledge and daily administration of legal requirements/government/company regulations in the process of interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Works with HR Director on any and all payroll increases and changes in job descriptions.
  • Coordinates salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. Provides input to payroll system for promotions, new hires, terminations, transfers etc.
  • Coordinates benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and workman’s compensation. Also supporting various locations in Canada.  
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and may conduct exit interviews or use third party vendor to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Coordinates the company relocation program in the Americas. Provides a central contact point for invoicing and relocation vendor assistance. Works closely with the Director Human Resources to ensure relocated employees are within company relocation policies/practices
  • Coordinates, along with the HR Generalist, the health awareness program within Canada.
  • Administers the monthly headcount reporting.
  • Researches, prepares, provides input and helps create company policy/procedures when requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university 
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training in HR role, in manufacturing environment preferred. 
  • Membership in a Major HR Association preferred.
  • CHRL, SPHR Certificates desired
  • Bi-lingual (French / English) preferred
