Who We Are:


The Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators (COPR), founded in 2009, is comprised of self-regulating colleges and government regulators of the Paramedic profession in Canada.


The purpose of COPR is to facilitate collective and collaborative action in current and future interests of pan-Canadian Paramedic regulation, and to support the development of a common understanding of provincial and federal obligations that may impact regulator functions.


COPR administers the paramedic entry to practice examination for seven regulatory jurisdictions in Canada and serves as a point of entry and body responsible for the preliminary assessment of credentials for internationally educated paramedics.


The Opportunity:


COPR is seeking a bilingual professional to join our team as an Examination Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent position.


Reporting to the Examination Manager, the Examination Coordinator will be responsible for providing support in the administration and delivery of COPR’s examination program.


As an ideal candidate for this role, you possess strong administrative and organizational skills, along with excellent attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism.


Key Responsibilities:


Examination Responsibilities:


  • Respond to candidate enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Review and approve examination applications according to the Eligibility Policy; updating and maintaining applications using CSM software.
  • Review and approve requests for testing accommodation to ensure consistency in approach and required documentation as per COPR Testing Accommodation Policy.
  • Ensure approved testing accommodations are arranged and confirm with candidates.
  • Ensure examination provider generated communication is accurate and in line with COPR policies and procedures.
  • Provide on-call support on examination days from the time the first candidate starts until the last candidate completes the examination.
  • Notify the Examination Manager of significant issues that occur on examination day.
  • Create a briefing note for each examination administration, which includes pre- and post- examination issues.
  • Conduct video audits on examination day and post examination.
  • Track trends and create an annual trend report, including recommendations for improvements to the Examination Manager.
  • Conduct quality assurance review of candidate results and address issues withing 48 hours of scheduled release of results.
  • Distribute examination results to candidates and regulators based on scheduled release dates/times.
  • Review certificate and mailing labels for errors, omissions, correct spelling, and addresses and provide approval to printing contractor for printing and distribution.
  • Assist the Examination Manager with examination appeals.


Administration Responsibilities:


  • Accurately prepare and distribute documentation.
  • Update the Examination Handbook, Examination Study Guide, and other supporting documents.
  • Work with the Communications Coordinator to ensure the Examination page on the COPR website is updated as required.
  • Create documents, forms, and templates as required.
  • Effectively manage phone calls and emails.
  • Establish and maintain courteous and friendly relationships with applicants, testing provider staff, and COPR members.


Other duties as required.


Qualifications:


  • Advanced English and French language skills (reading, writing & speaking) are required.
  • Graduate of recognized post-secondary program with a minimum of five years’ experience in examination practices and/or a regulatory environment, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using Customer Success Management (CSM) software is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently, in a self-directed manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • High level of accountability, integrity, and professionalism.


Compensation:


  • Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
