Who we need
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and Live-In Treatment; we are looking for a Senior Manager of Clinical Services to join us. You will provide clinical supervision and guide the work of a team of Registered Social Workers and Registered Psychotherapists. You will manage all clinical outpatient core services at YouthLink, including What’s Up Walk-In, Brief Therapy, Short Term Treatment for Families, Ongoing Therapy, Family Therapy and Group Therapy. You will work with the Director to implement new practice standards and decision-making on Measurement-Based Care. Please note that this is a permanent non-bargaining unit position working full time, 35 hours/week, with the requirement to be in the office five days per week.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead programs and services. You will oversee the delivery of outpatient mental health services for children and youth (ages 0–24) and their families, including individual, family, and group therapy. You will shape and evolve the clinical team's vision, philosophy, and objectives while managing projects that align internal operations with the evolving landscape of Children’s Mental Health. Acting as the clinical lead for Accreditation, you will ensure the preparation and submission of required documents and processes.
What you bring:
- The education and certification. You have a Master’s degree in a psychotherapy-related field. You are licensed to practice and registered with a regulated health college which permits the delivery of the controlled Act of Psychotherapy. Your participation in coursework demonstrates continual learning in Equity, Diversity and Belonging practices. In addition, you may have Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Certification, Level 1 & 2; Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Certification; Canadian Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (CAMFT) Clinical Supervisor Certification.
- The management experience. You have an advanced understanding of concepts related to power and privilege, social location, equity, and intersectionality. You have demonstrable experience in implementing equity strategies in programs and services. You have site and team management experience, including exposure to human resource management (union experience is a strong asset), financial management, program management, evaluation design, or systems design.
- The clinical knowledge. You have three or more years of experience providing individual psychotherapy and family therapy. You have an in-depth understanding of best practices and current literature in psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, trauma assessments, critical incident stress debriefing, and evidence-based treatment methods. Ideally, you have experience providing evidence-based dialectical behaviour therapy. You have a comprehensive knowledge of youth developmental stages, social ecology, and family systems. You are acutely aware of the impact of childhood, racial, and intergenerational trauma on youth development.
- The clinical leadership. You have a sound reputation and clearly articulate philosophy as a clinical leader with progressive, responsible clinical practice and three or more years of experience providing clinical supervision in Psychotherapy and Family Therapy. You leverage relevant information and critical analysis to make informed decisions, tackling problems with urgency and energy. You are passionate about mobilizing individuals and teams to drive change and collaborating with partners and stakeholders at all levels to build consensus.
- The ethical drive. You hold yourself to high moral standards, have a strong character and exercise sound judgment even in the most challenging situations. You are a champion of Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, specifically focusing on Anti-Black Racism. You are thoughtful in your choices and reflective in your guidance and practice, fostering learning, promoting innovation and introducing change for the better.
