**Turning Point Youth Services (TPYS)** is an accredited, multi service, child and youth mental health Centre that provides a range of services for youth, aged 12-24 and their families, many of whom have experienced barriers to service, marginalization, trauma, and racism.
As a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the Director of Services, the Manager of Clinical & Counselling Services provides leadership and support to the Clinical and Counselling Services (CCS) program and staff. Clinical and Counselling Services include community based counselling, service coordination, intensive in home counselling, and clinical support and case management to the live in treatment programs. The Manager ensures that suitable therapeutic intervention methods are used within the larger clinical framework of TPYS, employing various evidence-based or informed practices.
**Overview**:
The Manager, CCS provides strategic leadership for, and the management of, community based mental health services. The Manager is responsible for:
- Leadership in the development and implementation of best practice in clinical services.
- Clinical and administrative supervision for clinical staff, supporting their development to ensure effective therapeutic programming and intervention.
- Overseeing hiring, training and performance management for the Clinical & Counselling team.
- Ensuring key program performance indicators and individual performance targets are achieved.
- Establishing clinical directions and practices that meet the needs of a diverse community of youth and their families who often experience marginalization and barriers to service including stigma and racism.
- Supporting and employing anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and inclusive clinical practices.
- Leading the development and implementation of clinical training to support the growth and development of staff, as well as the strategic objectives of the Agency.
- Providing clinical consultation and support to the Agency’s staff, management team, and existing programs as required.
- Leading, establishing and maintaining key community partnerships and relationships.
- Preparing staff for Accreditation and ensuring compliance with standards of care.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, M.A., Ph.D. or equivalent related education.
- Registration with a professional governing body such as Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Services Workers (RSW), or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (RP), or the equivalent as determined by the Director of Services.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant clinical supervisory or management position in health or social services.
- Demonstrated leadership in the area of mental health services.
- Knowledge of evidence informed practices and program evaluation methods and tools.
- Demonstrated skills in the area of mental health treatment and support for adolescents and transitional age youth, youth at risk, and marginalized and racialized communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Anti-Oppressive Practice (AOP) and Anti-Black Racism (ABR).
- Understanding of social determinants of health, and awareness of systemic barriers to service.
- Skills in trauma informed clinical practice.
- Knowledge of the Toronto Region children’s service system and relevant legislation (CYFSA, YCJA) an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Strong administrative, organizational and computer skills.
- Sensitivity to, and ability to work with, a diverse staff and client group.
- Experience within a unionized environment an asset.
- Minimum of 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccination series officially approved by Health Canada.
