Clinical Trials Ontario is a leading organization in the field of clinical trials, dedicated to improving and promoting the environment for these trials in Ontario.

We are currently seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our team and play a key role in accelerating clinical trials. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our QuickSTART program.

This exciting opportunity involves working closely with institutions, industry sponsors, and other stakeholders to address start-up components of clinical trials, including contracts and ethics review. The Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of our enhanced QuickSTART program across the province.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the various processes and perspectives involved in clinical trial activation, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to plan and deliver components of the QuickSTART program, lead sub-committees, prepare reports, develop and track milestones and deliverables, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting CTO leadership in setting priorities and meeting deliverables of the QuickSTART program
  • Leading and coordinating collaborators across institutions and industry in the development of QuickSTART program tools and enhancements
  • Developing and evaluating policies, processes, templates, and training resources
  • Providing support to the CTO team, advisory groups, and committees by compiling program metrics and other information, preparing summaries and meeting notes, complete and/or follow up on action items

The essential background and skills required for this role include:

  • Undergraduate or college degree in a health-related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience related to clinical trials
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in coordination/execution of study start-up procedures; hands-on experience developing and/or negotiating budgets for industry-sponsored trials is preferred
  • Meticulous; strong attention to detail along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed within guidelines provided by CTO leadership team
  • Expert MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
