Lafarge Construction provides Construction services in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Lafarge Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Utility Operator

Position Description

The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: Operate a loader / backhoe / skidsteer safely and efficiently Partake in daily maintenance and complete repairs as required  Complete groundwork / labour Understand road construction best practices, grades, overall construction awareness Maintain a high level of housekeeping  Assist with other duties as required from time to time


Qualifications
The successful applicant will possess the following

Willing to learn and take direction Must be able to communicate well with co‐workers Must have a valid driver’s license with a preference given to those holding a class 3 with air, or higher Must be able to work under pressure  Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies Possess good interpersonal and communications skills to deal effectively with suppliers, clients, co‐workers and management  Must be able to work overtime, weekends, nights, and early starts (irregular hours) when necessary Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
