Lafarge Construction provides Construction services in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Lafarge Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Paver Operator

Responsibilities: 

Fully trained in the operations and capability of a Paver. Work as part of a team to operate Paver. Performing repair/maintenance on the Paver under the direction of plant foreman or lead hand. May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting Assist with a variety of job operations within a paving team. Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment. Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist Monitoring and ensuring quality of asphalt. Monitor material production within specifications. Ensure consistent feeding of paver to maintain a quality product Create an atmosphere of teamwork Seek out and implement Best Practices

Safety & Enviornment: 

Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)

Maintenance: 

Operate and perform routine maintenance on the Paver including, includes washing and cleaning of the Paver Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc.; complete proof of regular service may be required

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess the following:

Valid Class 5 Drivers License Min 5 years of experience operating a screed Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications Mechanically Inclined Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area Ability to read survey markings.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
