The opportunity:

The Community Care Specialist is a part of the Association Services team reporting directly to the Supervisor, Strategic Initiatives Community Care Team. Community Care Specialists are responsible for interacting with customers and employees through various communication channels including phone, email, chat and social media, while providing exceptional service and quality experiences. Community Care Specialists will deliver accurate, timely and effective information as well as process registrations and transactions and complete administrative functions in the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka operating systems. Community Care Specialists act as a liaison between community members and our programs and services, making helpful links between people, resources, ideas and strategic initiatives.

Please note that this is a one year maternity leave contract.

In this role, you will:

Demonstrate strong support and commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in Canada. Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. Ensure Association deliverables are met that enhance the community members experience across all areas of the Association. Actively participates in training and team meetings, maintaining strong knowledge of YMCA programs and services as well as strategic initiatives. Reviews changes, notices and updates regularly to ensure the appropriate resources are being used, and the information communicated is as accurate and up-to-date. Manage general inquiries, fields complaints and technical support issues, providing advice, guidance and positive solutions, documenting or recording interactions with community members and employees and escalating as appropriate. Complete assigned administration and contacts with a high level of speed, accuracy, care and professionalism. This may include data entry or system corrections, sales order and invoice generation, payment/refund processing, registrations and event support, bookings, modifications or cancellations, renewals, follow-ups, referrals, etc. for multiple YMCA departments. Model appropriate behaviours to staff in line with our Mission, Vision and Values; Establishes rapport and maintains effective relationship-building behaviours with staff and members. Represents the YMCA and the Association in a professional manner in internal and external forums. Willing to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the association.

You bring:

Post-Secondary Education preferred At least 2 years of customer service experience Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Dynamics for Membership preferred A complete understanding of YMCA programs and services preferred Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport, resolve conflict, and provide excellent service to community members and employees Excellent written communication skills Self-motivated with excellent time management skills; resourceful and able to work independently Proactive and adaptive; shows initiative; anticipates issues in advance High attention to detail and accuracy Demonstrated experience with training and development in traditional and e-learning environments Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after

commencement of work including:
