Job Description

The Operations Manager will work collaboratively with members of leadership, to enhance and promote the mission, vision, and value of the company. The position is responsible for overseeing all operations of the facility, including receiving, inventory, production, and shipping, and assisting in guiding the strategy of its designated site, in conjunction with other leadership team members. Responsible for ensuring that health and safety protocols are adhered to by conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Manage and Continuously Improve Daily Operations

Ensure accuracy of all production, packaging, labeling, shipping, and receiving Manage finished goods and bulk inventories; oversee and document daily cycle counts. Investigate operational non-conformances. Work collaboratively with Quality, Sales, and Technical Support departments to communicate operational issues and knowledge. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and periodically review them to ensure they reflect current processes. Ensure sufficient staffing levels across all Departments. Ensure all operations are executed according to regulations and company policies. Oversee internal audits.

Plan, Investigate and Execute Expansion and Growth Activities

Confer with vendors and local resources to ensure superior services at a minimal cost. Negotiate and execute vendor agreements per the company’s interests.

Regulatory Inspections and Audits

Assist in hosting regulatory inspections. Work with the Quality department to provide reports at the end of each inspection day for review.

Facility Management

Manage buildings, grounds, and systems and negotiate rates/contracts with outside sources related to building management. Assist IT with troubleshooting related issues.

Purchasing

Ensure facility, company equipment, and supplies are up to date. Obtain quotes, place orders, and generate purchase orders for stock and supplies.

Material Requirement Planning

Oversee all MRP operations for inventory control. Work in conjunction with head office to ensure accurate demand planning. Obtain permits and manage logistics for import and export.

Employee Development

Hold regular communications with employees to establish goals and action plans. Build the team; coach and counsel employees towards superior performance. Set Department key performance indicators (KPIs).

Safety

Work collaboratively across departments to develop and carry out safety programs. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and standards, conducting audits and reviews of existing health and safety policies, advising employees on safety procedures, conducting training sessions, and addressing incidents and injuries. Provide regular training and coaching as they are related to safety-specific initiatives. Maintain regular knowledge of safety laws and guidelines set forth by state and federal agencies.

Qualifications:

Minimum ten years experience in a managerial role in Operations Bachelor’s degree in sciences, Business or Education, or relevant field Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and cGMP is considered an asset Knowledge of Six Sigma and asset Operational involvement with regulatory bodies Experience dealing with quality management software is considered an asset A strong leader with excellent management skills and the ability to coach others Excellent communication skills: fluent French and English (oral & written) required. This position will oversee operations and employees in Québec and British Columbia. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) required Ability to lift heavy materials (up to and exceeding 20 kg) CNESST knowledge is considered an asset Soft Skills: Strong listening skills, very customer-focused and professional Proven abilities to apply good judgment, ethical practice, and decision-making skills Excellent time management and organizational skills

Le responsable des opérations travaillera en collaboration avec les membres de la direction afin d'améliorer et de promouvoir la mission, la vision et la valeur de l'entreprise. Le titulaire du poste est chargé de superviser toutes les opérations de l'installation, y compris la réception, l'inventaire, la production et l'expédition, et d'aider à orienter la stratégie du site désigné, en collaboration avec d'autres membres de l'équipe de direction. Il est chargé de veiller au respect des protocoles de santé et de sécurité en organisant des réunions de sécurité, des audits et des inspections afin de garantir la conformité.

Responsabilités et tâches:

Gérer et améliorer continuellement les opérations quotidiennes

Assurer l'exactitude de l'ensemble de la production, de l'emballage, de l'étiquetage, de l'expédition et de la réception. Gérer les stocks de produits finis et en vrac ; superviser et documenter les comptages quotidiens. Enquêter sur les non-conformités opérationnelles. Travailler en collaboration avec les services de la qualité, des ventes et de l'assistance technique pour communiquer les problèmes opérationnels et les connaissances. Veiller au respect des procédures opérationnelles normalisées (POS) et les réviser périodiquement pour s'assurer qu'elles reflètent les processus actuels. Veiller à ce que les effectifs soient suffisants dans tous les départements. Veiller à ce que toutes les opérations soient exécutées conformément aux réglementations et aux politiques de l'entreprise. Superviser les audits internes.

Planifier, étudier et mettre en œuvre des activités d'expansion et de croissance

Se concerter avec les fournisseurs et les ressources locales pour garantir des services de qualité supérieure à un coût minimal. Négocier et exécuter les accords avec les fournisseurs dans l'intérêt de l'entreprise.

Inspections et audits réglementaires

Participer à l'organisation des inspections réglementaires. Travailler en collaboration avec le service qualité pour fournir des rapports à la fin de chaque journée d'inspection.

Gestion des installations

Gérer les bâtiments, les terrains et les systèmes et négocier les tarifs/contrats avec des sources extérieures en ce qui concerne la gestion des bâtiments. Aider le service informatique à résoudre les problèmes liés à la gestion des bâtiments.

Achats

Veiller à ce que les installations, l'équipement de l'entreprise et les fournitures soient à jour. Obtenir des devis, passer des commandes et générer des bons de commande pour le stock et les fournitures.

Planification des besoins en matériel

Superviser toutes les opérations MRP pour le contrôle des stocks. Travailler en collaboration avec le siège pour assurer une planification précise de la demande. Obtenir les autorisations et gérer la logistique pour l'importation et l'exportation.

Développement du personnel

Communiquer régulièrement avec les employés afin d'établir des objectifs et des plans d'action. Constituer l'équipe ; encadrer et conseiller les employés en vue d'obtenir des performances supérieures. Définir les indicateurs de performance clés du département.

Sécurité

Travailler en collaboration avec les différents services pour élaborer et mettre en œuvre des programmes de sécurité. Veiller au respect des normes et des organismes de réglementation, en procédant à des audits et à des examens des politiques existantes en matière de santé et de sécurité, en conseillant les employés sur les procédures de sécurité, en organisant des séances de formation et en traitant les incidents et les blessures. Assurer une formation et un encadrement réguliers dans le cadre d'initiatives spécifiques en matière de sécurité. Maintenir une connaissance régulière des lois et des lignes directrices en matière de sécurité établies par les agences fédérales et d'État.

Qualifications :

Au moins dix ans d'expérience dans un rôle de gestion des opérations. Licence en sciences, en commerce, en éducation ou dans un domaine pertinent. Une expérience dans l'industrie pharmaceutique et les BPF est considérée comme un atout. Connaissance de Six Sigma, un atout Implication opérationnelle avec les organismes de réglementation Une expérience des logiciels de gestion de la qualité est considérée comme un atout. Un leader fort avec d'excellentes compétences en gestion et la capacité d'encadrer les autres. Excellentes aptitudes à la communication : maîtrise du français et de l'anglais (à l'oral et à l'écrit). Le titulaire de ce poste supervisera les opérations et les employés au Québec et en Colombie-Britannique. Connaissance de Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel et PowerPoint) requise. Capacité à soulever des matériaux lourds (jusqu'à 20 kg et plus). La connaissance de la CNESST est considérée comme un atout. Compétences générales : Grande capacité d'écoute, orientation client et professionnalisme. Aptitude avérée à faire preuve de discernement, à respecter les règles d'éthique et à prendre des décisions. Excellentes aptitudes à la gestion du temps et à l'organisation
