Primary Purpose: The Buyer is responsible for the execution and efficient replenishment of inventory to meet forecasted customer demand and optimal inventory levels.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review replenishment suggestions and execute purchase orders, ensuring timely processing to meet optimal stock levels and demand including non-inventory purchases (office supplies etc.)

  • Collaborate with suppliers to maintain purchase order status, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Communicate any supply chain issues, inventory shortages, or extended lead times to Purchasing Manager.

  • Continuously monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.

  • Collaborate with Purchasing Manager, production team, Branch teams, and suppliers to manage lead times and minimize supply chain disruptions.

  • Review all transfer order requests, and using parameters set out by Purchasing Manager, communicate fulfillment approvals to the shipping location as well as the receiving location.

  • Process KANBAN purchasing for filter and sheet metal components.

  • Set up and maintain KANBAN cards, monitor consumption rates, and initiate replenishment orders based on KANBAN signals.

  • Collaborate with purchasing manager to establish and maintain efficient KANBAN processes.

  • Manage sheet metal replenishment process, including monitoring stock levels, initiating purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery.

Education and Work Experience:

  • College diploma in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of replenishment planning, inventory management, and purchasing principles.

  • Proficient in using inventory management software and ERP systems.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal and filter components is a plus.
