Job Title: Journeyman, Parts Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Journeyman, Parts Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our warehouse/town shop in Fort McMurray. The successful candidate will be responsible for general warehouse upkeep, creating pick tickets, issuing materials, and coordinating shipping and receiving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General warehouse upkeep and housekeeping
  • Create pick tickets and issue materials
  • Pick and bill stock to fill work orders
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of freight with multiple carriers
  • Handle inventory issues, maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels
  • Loading/unloading freight using a forklift
  • Act as a buyer and negotiate with vendors

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Parts Technician or 4th year apprentice
  • 2-5 years of related work experience with at least 2+ years of heavy-duty automotive mechanical parts experience, 2+ years of shipping and receiving work experience, and 1+ year of experience as a buyer negotiating with vendors
  • Prior experience with ERP systems, specifically using AX for purchasing and FX for transferring costs
  • Forklift training is considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Valid ESC certification or CSTS-09
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test

  • Perform physically demanding work, including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
