**Primary Purpose**: The Buyer, Distribution is responsible for ensuring the efficient replenishment of inventory, including internal transfers, and purchasing, to meet forecasted sales goals and customer demands.
**Essential Job Functions**:
General
- Review replenishment suggestions and execute purchase orders for the distribution division, ensuring timely processing to meet optimal stock levels and customer demands, including non-inventory purchases (office supplies etc.).
- Collaborate with suppliers to maintain purchase orders status, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate any supply chain issues, inventory shortages, and extended lead times to Purchasing Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels, sales data, and demand patterns to drive replenishment decision making for optimal stock levels and avoid stockouts or excess inventory as set out by Purchasing Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Communicate Supplier Price Increases to the purchasing and operations team(s)
- Review all distribution transfer order requests, using parameters set out by Purchasing Manager, communicate fulfillment approvals to the shipping branch as well as the receiving branch.
- Act as the first point of contact for branch requests on product pricing, availability, and lead times. Provide branches with updated delivery dates.
- Liaise with the branches and finance team to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies.
- Report damaged goods or short shipments to vendors and initiate returns of defective materials for replacement, repair, or credit.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information on order delivery schedule, tracking information etc.
- Ensure timely creation of new parts for the distribution team upon approval from Purchasing Manager, including processing and creation of sales kits.
- Maintenance of new part data, including pricing and supplier information, and accuracy of unit of measure factors.

**Education and Work Experience**: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools for inventory management and demand forecasting.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, particularly related to sales kits and promotional materials, is a plus.
- Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Work is performed at a desk in a comfortable office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, photocopier, telephone. Walking short distances and spending the majority of the time in front of a computer screen. Some climbing of stairs may be required. Moderate level of stress.
