Description

Under the direction of the Corporate Services Director, we are looking for a talented social media and marketing Co-op student to create and maintain a strong online presence for our company. Your role is to implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts. If you are a tech-savvy professional with an interest in communicating with community and clients through online channels, we would like to meet you.

As a Social media coordinator, you will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more clients, employees and promote our brand. Ultimately, you should be able to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate will live up to our mission, vision and values as an organization and will have a broad knowledge of social media and marketing as well as general administrative responsibilities. They will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of social media projects and operations. To succeed in this role, you need to be familiar using many forms of software including Microsoft office, Canva, social media apps.

Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Create engaging text, image and video content
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products
  • Measure web traffic and monitor SEO
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  • Facilitate online conversations with cu and respond to queries
  • Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layout
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions
  • Perform orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires
  • Assist and lead staff appreciation activities
  • Grow and expand social media community development for HR opportunities
  • Support other functions as assigned

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a Social media coordinator
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Multitasking and analytical skills
  • BS degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field
  • Strong ability in using MS Office
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Interest in personal and career growth

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a University education Co-op Program in marketing, new media or management field
