About the Opportunity

The Health Care Social Worker is a crucial member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, offering comprehensive care across the care continuum. Social Workers focus on the relationship between individuals and their surroundings, essential for psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By emphasizing engagement, assessment, planning, and intervention, Social Workers empower patients to leverage their strengths and resources.

About You

If you meet the following requirements, we want to hear from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
  • Two (2) years of post BSW clinical experience
  • Understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
  • Previous experience in adult community mental health is advantageous
  • Proficiency in client-/family-centered care
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches, such as Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Motivational Interviewing
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with local community resources and agencies
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities
  • Collaboration skills with community partners
  • Proficiency in additional languages, with a preference for French
Hours
  • Permanent full-time role; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Possible travel to other locations
Compensation and Incentives

$42.89 per hour

Successful candidates may qualify for our benefits package, encompassing health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
