Overview

The Quality & Process Analyst’s primary responsibilities are to ensure uniform day to day Quality Control and Quality Assurance operations at the plant, and to measure and suggest alternatives and enhancements to our processes and systems to ensure continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities:

Provides support for all health and safety initiatives and exhibit safety leadership throughout the plant. Ensures uniform day to day Quality Control and Quality Assurance operations at the plant: “go-to” person for all quality related issues. Conducts studies and implements changes to ensure that quality and process issues are addressed. Assists production personnel in troubleshooting and solving of operation problems, and work closely with the systems group in the development or modifications of control schemes. Develops training and/or information for the operations group with regard to quality and process or modification to process equipment. Administers and maintains the Quality Management System as identified in the Plant Quality Manual through the periodic review, auditing and improving objectives to the system. Participates in the development of periodic forecasts of manufacturing efficiencies, costs and profits (budgets, weekly and daily production runs) and for corporation technical plans, quality standards, and optimum production practices. Establishes plant raw materials and quality specifications which enable finished products to meet norms and market requirements and contribute to the stability of the manufacturing process. Strives for continuous improvement of equipment performance, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness. Leads Root Cause Analysis in case of a quality incident. Assists with maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment. Promotes the awareness of new quality and process equipment, techniques, or development and subsequent implementation of tests, new methods, and measurements. All other duties as assigned.

Safety: 

Promote and comply with Company safety policies.  Implement laboratory safety procedures and ensure that safety documents are up to date.  Ensure that the SDS database is updated.  Conduct Hazards and Field level Risk Assessment.  Contribute to plant housekeeping and safety programs. Should be able to assist in the bump testing of confined space analyzers.

Environment:

Ensure that all quality activities and initiatives meet environmental regulatory requirements.

Relationship with Other Jobs:

The Quality & Process Analyst actively works with all departments to ensure that quality of final products and in-process material is maintained. The Quality & Process Analyst supports production operators and control room operators to ensure the quality targets are achieved and SOPs are followed. Network with the Quality departments at the other Lafarge quality departments to develop optimization plans and proposals and proposals regarding quality and process improvements. Support technical sales and customer support activities. Plan, implement, and report product trials.

Qualification Profile:
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering up to 2 years of experience in quality control, production, process engineering or equivalent in cement or similar industry such as steel, line, glass, etc.

Knowledge and Skills:

Good knowledge of the cement manufacturing process is an advantage Good troubleshooting abilities  Strong written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical.  Excellent team player Good conflict management skills and strong leadership potential Dynamic, proactive, and able to work and drive projects independently
