We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the finance industry, located in Toronto, Ontario, M3B 2T5, Canada. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and reconciling accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all necessary details are included.
• Accurately enter approved invoices into the accounting system for payment processing.
• Monitor outstanding payables and take necessary actions to ensure timely invoice processing.
• Prepare and execute various payment methods, such as checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
• Maintain open communication with vendors regarding payment status and discrepancies, and provide prompt and courteous service to maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Regularly update and ensure the accuracy of vendor information.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions to guarantee data accuracy and prepare accounts payable records and reports.
• Assist in month-end closing processes by reconciling the accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and efficiency, and support system upgrades or process automation initiatives.

• Applicant must possess skills in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in Coding Invoices is essential

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Quickbooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise, and QuickBooks Pro is required

• Familiarity with modern office procedures and methods including electronic communications and office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, high volume environment

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
