We are currently recruiting for a Visual Inspection Technician for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario , Canada.
A Visual Inspection Technician works in a team environment, under the direction of the Lead Technician. They complete equipment assessment and testing tasks. They document all tasks per our procedures and MITP's. In addition to hands-on assessment and testing, the Technician has started our Internal Visual Inspection qualification program, and has completed the first level of our certification program (Visual Inspection Level 1, Visual Inspection Level 2 & Visual Inspection Level 3). The Technician will deploy to customer job sites (Bruce Power, Ontario Power Generation, New Brunswick Power & Cernavoda) as required for Outages.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Independently undertake moderately complex technical assignments that are part of an ongoing engineering program in support of activities such as operation of equipment and systems. Review and understand Visual Inspection operating procedures and technicians qualifications. During project execution responsible for setting up and maintaining equipment. You will be required to work independently, with general supervision. Typically can be cross utilized to support Waterlancing.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education in a technical field is preferred. 2 - 3 years experience in a related field would be a preference. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Field projects require shift work and extended hours. Extensive site work is required (50% - 60%). Previous experience at a Nuclear Facility (BP, OPG, NBP) is an asset. Visual inspection equipment (cameras & video probes) / control system knowledge is required. Displays technical competence. Understands the objectives of professional staff but requires direction from Lead Technicians and Supervisors. Technical assistance is provided by Engineers. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance in order to gain access to nuclear power plant sites. Must be willing to work in a radiological environment.WHY JOIN BWXT?

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[59,000]] and $[[86,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
