We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.Job Description:As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in upholding our company's commitment to producing safe and high-quality food products. You will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and other team members to implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout all stages of production. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Quality Control Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Sampling and Testing: Collecting samples of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for analysis using various testing methods and equipment, such as pH meters, moisture analyzers, and microbial testing kits.
  3. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of quality control tests, inspection results, and any deviations from established procedures. Ensuring that all documentation is complete and up-to-date for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
  4. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identifying quality issues or process deviations and working collaboratively with production teams to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.
  5. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Staying informed about relevant food safety regulations and industry standards, and ensuring that all quality assurance activities adhere to legal requirements and certification standards, such as HACCP and GMP.
  6. Training and Education: Providing training to production staff on quality control procedures, sanitation practices, and food safety protocols to promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within the food industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, CFIA, and GMP.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate and reliable testing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with quality management systems is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends, as needed.
