Adecco has partnered with a well-respected consulting firm to hire their next highly skilled Senior Building Science/Building Envelope Engineer with 7-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, analysis, and execution of various building science engineering projects, including new and post-construction restoration projects.
  • Work closely with project teams to apply building science principles to the design process for residential and commercial projects.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and performance testing of building envelope components, preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Provide senior-level review and consultation on technical reports and project specifications created by junior team members for building envelope projects, assessments, and investigations.
  • Supervise field inspections and report on various construction projects related to the building envelope.
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in building science, green technologies, and building code standards.
  • Develop engineering proposals and maintain communication with clients.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in an engineering program with a focus on Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience in building science projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code, construction practices, and contract legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with clients, contractors, engineers, and co-workers.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills for handling multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Proficiency in both French and English is a plus.
  • Thermography certification (levels 1, 2, or 3) is beneficial.
