Are you a seasoned Scrum Master with a passion for fostering high-performing Agile teams? Our client is seeking a dedicated Scrum Master to drive the delivery of innovative solutions while promoting Agile and Scrum practices. As the Scrum Master, you'll play a critical role in empowering the team to self-organize, remove obstacles, and consistently deliver high-quality, user-centric products. You'll be responsible for facilitating Agile events, managing impediments, and collaborating closely with the Product Owner to ensure alignment with the product's goals and vision.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong background in project management, Agile methodologies, and servant leadership. You'll coach the team on Agile principles, help them improve their practices, and create a culture of continuous learning. Experience with Agile metrics, DevOps, and data ecosystems is highly valued, along with a working knowledge of tools like PowerBI, Azure DevOps, and SQL Server. If you're a certified Scrum Master (DASM, PSM) and fluent in both English and French, you’ll have an edge in this dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
•Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of Agile events and project/program management practices.
•Support the Product Owner to ensure teams actions are aligned with the Product goals, vision, and roadmap.
•Identify and action impediments that interfere with team progress and achievement of the team’s goals (for example, using burndown charts at stand-ups, reviewing OKRs (Objective and Key Results) on an ongoing basis, identifying risks etc.).
•Ability to implement, navigate, communicate and decipher trends using team metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time), DevOps/ IT metrics along with barometer scores and progress against OKRs
•Clear obstacles in the team’s path (for example, dependencies on other teams), maintain a list of risks, impediments, and improvements.
•Facilitate team events (planning sessions, retrospectives, mid-cycle reviews, and demos).
•Organize the processes of decomposition and story/task estimation. Co-ordinate cross-team technology dependencies.
•Coordinate interaction with other teams and any other relevant product level synchronizations.
•Support identification of trade-offs between short-term and long-term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and Product Owner.
•Identify ways to strengthen teams’ understanding and adoption of Agile concepts and principles.
•Foster a continuous learning environment, helping teams to inspect and adapt. Role model and coach Agile behaviors as needed.
•Create and maintain an atmosphere of trust through facilitation of retrospectives and feedback exchange among team members.
•Bring transparency to Business and IT organizations about team and Product development.
•Bring an element of project management skills to the team to assist in planning larger initiatives that require an organized timeline.

Qualifications
•Completed an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, program management or business analysis.
•Minimum 3 years’ experience as a dedicated Scrum Master.

Coaching and facilitation:

•Capable of delivering effective coaching to squad members to help achieve the full potential of the individual and the squad.
•Strong supporter of squad members by helping them develop necessary skills and Agile expertise.
•Effective collaborator with the Product Owner and squad to drive towards achieving Product Vision and OKRs.
•Ability to lead proactive resolution of intra-or-inter squad conflicts.

Agile knowledge and expertise:

•Familiar with Agile and leverages relevant frameworks (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) to optimize squad outcomes.
•Grasps the details of squad members’ technical approaches and proactively drives initiatives to improve engineering practices.
•Fluent in customer centricity and effectively encourages the squad to uphold those principles.
•Effective at re-orienting the squads thinking around continuous iteration based on customer feedback when necessary.

Mindset and behaviors:

•Naturally and consistently brings enthusiasm and passion about the Enterprise Agile process to effectively encourage the squad to contribute to that environment.
•Adopts a growth mindset and promotes and open-feedback culture within the squad

Other Skills Required:

•Experience working in: Technology, Data and information management, financial services; federal crown corporation.
•Strong knowledge of Data ecosystems, Ei: Knowledge of ITIL, IT Service Management and IT Operations. Knowledge of data analytics platforms such as PowerBI, SAS Viya, Informatica MDM, SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Infosphere, etc.
•Complex stakeholder management.
•Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile principles, the Scrum Framework and Kanban.

Assets:

•Scrum Master certification (e.g., DASM, DASSM, PSM)
•Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
•Knowledge of Planview Portfolios AgilePlace
•Fluently bilingual in both official languages, French and English.
