RECL 4P35 – Current Issues in Community Recreation

Synchronous

Lecture Monday 1600-1800

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2023 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2023 - $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

1. in Recreation and Leisure Studies (or student/candidate in Recreation and Leisure Studies). After the deadline, if no qualified student/candidate applications have been received, we will then consider applicants with a Master's degree.

2. Demonstrated experience in recreation and leisure service delivery in municipal, community or provincial organizations.

3. Demonstrated familiarity with professional standards, contemporary trends in recreation and leisure service provision in community settings, problem-solving and ethical decision-making, and active participation in professional organizations.

4. Strong connections to community partners are desirable.

5. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the university level.

6. Demonstrated experience in delivering online courses.
