The Opportunity:
The Library/Information Commons Aide works part-time in the Library and Learning Commons during the evenings and weekends, to assure access to the resources in these areas to students, staff, and public patrons.
Key Job Functions:
Assure the Learning Commons is opened on time on Saturdays and Sundays and closed at the end of each day.Provide basic Library circulation and collection management duties such as shelving items, shelf reading, and associated tasks as directed.Provide service desk support for students, staff, and visiting users of the library including password resets, basic technical support, and general customer service.Perform Library functions such as interlibrary loans, receiving periodicals, maintaining the library guides, and creating displays to promote library itemsPerform other Library and Support related duties as assigned.Acts ethically, openly, honestly, and respectfully to build and maintain an environment of trust, safety, and well-being.Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:
Minimum of a grade 10 educationMust be a current student and attending either high school or higher education in the year in which they will be workingPrevious experience working in customer service positions, basic computer skills and knowledge of the internet are preferredConditions of Employment:
Current Criminal Reference check that is free of any offenses.Must respect and actively promote health and safety policies.Open until suitable candidate is found.
