EBCis actively seeking a Project Engineer for our Ontario civildivision where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge tocontribute to the continued success and growth of theorganization.

Reportingto the Project Manager the Project Engineer is responsible forensuring that the project is completed safely on schedule and incompliance with the contract and job costestimates.

Theideal candidate will have experience with a variety of CivilInfrastructure projects.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Assistthe PM in the overall planning and scheduling of project includingmonitoring andreporting.
  • Assistthe PM in all functions and operations of project includingcompliance with local legislative and labourrequirements.
  • Ensuresthat Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects ofprojectexecution.
  • Manageand coordinate projects withinbudgets.
  • Assistthe PM in preparing the project cost status reports in terms ofpercent complete cost to date and costforecast.
  • Identifyproject concerns and alert management of potential risks onassigned projects. Develop a plan to minimize detrimental impactsand mitigaterisks.
  • Monitorthe overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and takescorrective action wherenecessary.
  • Assistthe PM in preparing budgets forecasts and reducing risk throughmanaging scope and contractchange.
  • Ensurethat all scope and contract changes are submitted and approved bythe client.
  • Responsiblefor implementing and monitoring of the Company s Safety Policy andProgram.
  • Responsiblefor implementing and monitoring of the Company s Quality AssuranceProgram and relatedrequirements.
  • Manpoweracquisition Equipment Management and Materialprocurement.
  • Assistthe PM in the management of all aspects of subcontractor workexecution andcontracts.
  • Preparationof progress billings.Assist in the collection of outstandingpayments.
  • Carryout site safetyinspections.
  • Otherduties asassigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum5 years of industryexperience.
  • Technicalbackground with professional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) orcombination of technical training and/or relatedexperience.
  • Experiencein contracting industry (heavy civilpreferred).
  • Readanalyze and interpret technical designdrawings.
  • Schedulingexperience and analysisskills.
  • Supervision/personnelexperience.
  • Computerproficiency.
  • Written/oralcommunications.
  • Presentationskills.
  • Problemsolving and organizationalskills.
  • Costanalysis control andreporting.
  • ContractsCommercialknowledge.

SKILLSAND ATTITUDESREQUIRED
  • Previouswork experience with underground utility works preferred.
  • Previouswork experience with Metrolinx and/or Basement Flooding protectionprogram is anasset.
  • Previouswork experience in Civil Engineering Construction including bridgesheavy civil construction and/or tunneling ispreferred.

Minimum 5 years of industry experience. Technical background withprofessional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) or combination oftechnical training and/or related experience. Experience incontracting industry (heavy civil preferred). Read, analyze, andinterpret technical design drawings. Scheduling experience andanalysis skills. Supervision/personnel experience. Computerproficiency. Written/oral communications. Presentation skills.Problem solving and organizational skills. Cost analysis, control,and reporting. Contracts - Commercial knowledge. Negotiatingskills. SKILLS AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED Previous work experience withunderground utility works, preferred.
