General Description:
  • As the Medical Director Veterinarian, you will lead our high-performing team and set the standard for medical care at the hospital. You will be a mentor for the veterinary team and a role model for the entire clinic, ensuring a safe, effective, and respectful work environment.

Responsibilities:Leadership and Development: 
  • Cast a vision for the clinic's management team. 
  • Work closely with veterinarians to meet clinical and personal goals. 
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices. 
  • Address client concerns and complaints with the leadership team. 
Monitoring and Feedback: 
  • Participate in discussions about clinic and staff performance. 
  • Facilitate doctor meetings and prepare notes. 
  • Ensure clients are confident in the medical services received. 
  • Follow up with the veterinary team on protocol adherence. 
Coaching and Mentoring: 
  • Act as a role model for professionalism and medical care. 
  • Guide and evaluate veterinary staff to operate at the highest level. 
  • Establish a culture of collaboration for patient care. 
  • Provide mentorship and continuing education across VetStrategy clinics. 
Hands-on Support: 
  • Build community awareness and loyalty to the clinic. 
  • Innovate operational practices to promote clinic growth.
  • Contribute to the selection of new hires.
  • Authorize and oversee the use of narcotics.
Advancing Medical Care: 
  • Oversee surgical and medical cases for all DVMs. 
  • Maintain and improve quality of medicine and surgical procedures. 
  • Establish and oversee medical protocols. 
  • Elevate the level of medicine through coaching and development. 
Required Knowledge: 
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school. 
  • Eligible for licensing in Ontario.
