We are currently recruiting for a **Manager,** Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD)**.**

**Reporting Relationship**:Senior Director, SPD, Biomedical & Supply Chain Management

**Location**: Wilson, Church, Finch Site

**Responsibilities**:

- To manage the Medical Device Reprocessing departments and Utility Transport Aides activities across all sites, Wilson, Finch and Church Sites
- Contribute to the organization and program vision, values and strategic plan
- Support and maintains the principles of shared governance, interdisciplinary and collaborative management, patient focused service, and continuous quality improvement
- Maintain and foster an environment that is sensitive to the diversity of internal and external communities
- Promote team spirit, cohesiveness, motivation and commitment to service goals.
- Initiate and lead change effectively within the service(s)
- As a resource person, works collaboratively with own staff and/or other staff in all clinical areas in problem solving administrative issues
- Spearhead MDRD standardization and quality directive
- Provide leadership
- in excellent patient care and service delivery through continuous quality improvement processes that include planning, quality monitoring, and risk avoidance
- in the development and use of appropriate resources to measure and evaluate service processes and outcomes
- in complying with all processes consistent with Canadian Standards Association (CSA), PIDAC and Accreditation Standards
- Facilitate the use of feedback strategies to maintain and improve performance of team members
- Design and implement methods and techniques to monitor and continuously improve the delivery of service
- Design, develop, and implement ongoing monitoring and evaluation of systems to achieve department objectives that align with the corporate objectives
- Support established SLA for the MDRD and the Utility Transport Aides
- Provide leadership in the development of new services and initiatives by creating an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and critical thinking among the interdisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to design delivery of service models that improve services for clients.
- Develop the service-operating plan in consultation with stakeholders such as the Program Directors, other services and department Managers, physicians, staff, consumers, and community partners.
- Maintain and foster co-operative links with all clinical and non-clinical departments across sites by actively participating in pertinent committees.
- Utilize allocated resources (staff, supplies, space, and equipment) to achieve the program vision, goals, and service objectives
- Act as a coach, mentor, and role model, and leader to team members to provide them an environment where shared governance, empowerment and respect for diversity can grow
- Facilitate the development of synergistic service teams who are patient centered and outcome focused
- Provide leadership and guidance so that effective strategies are utilized in service resource planning and allocation, performance management, selection, service staff development, human rights and employment equity
- Assist in identifying team and individual’s education needs, and provide educational opportunities that promote personal and professional development
- Demonstrate an awareness of personal development needs by seeking performance feedback from Directors, colleagues, and participate in development opportunities available both internally and externally

**Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in Health Related Discipline required, Nursing or Engineering preferred
- Graduate of a recognized MDR program re
