To be successful as our new Kinesiologist, you will:

Hold a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario  Demonstrate experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying physical and/or cognitive exercise programs based on the needs of the residents Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

It would be an asset if our new Kinesiologist has:

Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices a Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/ seminars Demonstrated experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (eg. School placement)

As a new Kinesiologist joining our Village, you will:

Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents. You will work as key members of our Village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ needs, and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care.

Coordinate and oversee the Program for Active Living at the Village level which focuses on enhancing the quality of life of our residents and maximizing independence. Our Kinesiologists design and implement innovative physical and cognitive exercise programs with individual residents and monitors’ progress. 

Work in close collaboration with Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists to ensure the needs of the residents are being met.
