Regional Controller

We are offering an exciting and unique opportunity for a Group Controller with a large, publicly traded manufacturing organization with operations across the globe . Reporting to the VP Finance, this role can be located in either Mississauga or Ancaster, and has financial oversight for 3 plants in Canada. This role primarily focuses on strategic financial leadership, budgeting and forecasting, financial operations and compliance, team leadership and development, and data analytics and business intelligence. The Group Controller manages a team of up to 15 staff including 2 Controllers. In addition to being 100% onsite, this role requires regular travel between all 3 plants as well as occasional global travel to Head Office.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Develop financial strategies that support long-term company objectives.
• Lead strategic projects such as system implementations and process improvements to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Direct the annual budgeting and forecasting processes to align with strategic objectives and operational plans.
• Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’s objectives, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Manage risks, oversee internal audits, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the enhancement of financial systems and ERP integrations to improve reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Drive the adoption and utilization of business intelligence tools and data analytics practices to enhance financial decision-making and operational insights.
• Significant experience in a regional controller role, with a minimum of 10 years in the field
• CPA designation
• Manufacturing industry experience is mandatory
• Preference will be given to candidates from large auto manufacturing companies such as Magna, Martinrea and Linamar)
• Ability to strategize and manage business operations
• Skills in budgeting and forecasting
• Experience in crafting management presentations
• Ability to execute regional planning.
