Job Purpose:
The Treatment Technician will perform tasks and treatments on patients under the guidance of the Trichologist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Counsels patients by transmitting Trichologist’s orders and providing hair and scalp care information to the patient
  • Follows standard treatment procedures and treatment formulas without deviation.
  • Verify the information in the file by interviewing the patient, gathering and recording additional or current information, and confirming the purpose of the visit. Secures patient information and maintains confidentiality.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following all company policies and procedures around cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and treatment rooms.
  • Keep inventory of stock required in treatment rooms, requesting supplies when needed.
  • Proper storage of treatment products and relabeling containers when necessary.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and making Manager aware when repairs need to be made.
  • Participates in training required for the proper use of the equipment and adheres to guidelines for operation.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all patients and other staff of the clinic.
  • Refers compliance issues to the Manager or Owner, when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Cleaning Responsibilities:
  • To Be Done Daily:
  • Treatment rooms should be cleaned twice – once immediately before patient appointment and again immediately following.
  • Daily wipe/dust instrument tables, equipment, etc.
  • Clean patient touch areas during day-door handles, door frames, counters, objects in treatment rooms, and other high-touch items.
  • Disinfect all sinks once daily with germicidal disinfectant.
  • Disinfecting work areas at the end of the day and shared work areas before and after each use.
  • Dry mop and wet mop all non-carpeted floors with germicidal disinfectant solution.
  • Other cleanings as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Performs pre-treatment checks daily reports maintenance and repair issues immediately and performs light-duty maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintain equipment logs for audits.
  • Relay information in an accurate, clear, concise, and courteous manner. (Good bedside mannerisms).
  • Technician requires superior examination skills, looking for small changes and details during treatments, plus a high level of attention to detail in their work.
  • Develops and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, patients, and others encountered through position.
  • Excellent attention to detail in all communications and entries, plus understanding difficulties inaccurate entries may cause.
  • Trustworthy with high ethical standards, a deep understanding of confidentiality, and a high level of personal integrity.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands - MEDIUM:
  • The technician role requires standing in one spot or minimal movement for extended periods.
  • Work will take place in private rooms, sitting close to patients, and positioning patients for treatments.
  • Technicians may be required to assist patient movement to the exam rooms and in/out of patient/examination chairs.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, and kneeling for cleaning, adjusting equipment, and accomplishing tasks.

Environmental Demands - LOW:
  • Work will take place in a climate-controlled environment.
  • There are chemical hazards associated with the use of cleaning supplies that this role will be required to use.

Mental Demands - MEDIUM:
  • Not being able to discuss issues and topics related to work with friends and family.
  • Stress may be caused by the continued declining health of patients.
