Responsibilities

Manage and maintain inventory accuracy regularly through monitoring of warehouse receiving and distribution activities, stock takes/transfers and request periodic audits/cycle counts from the warehouses to ensure accuracy of inventory levels. Plan/forecast material requirement amounts in smaller quantities at shorter intervals relative to demand based on build schedules using created planning sheets as reference. Identify and optimize common inventory items among facilities regularly and use information to initiate material forecasting to maintain material availability for critical items. Complete material order logs daily to track progress on orders. Update incoming material purchase requests daily and communicate these requests with Supply Chain Manager accordingly. Monitor pull requests of materials, consumables or other stock items regularly in order to fill technician/contractor’s requests Propose, modify and develop forecasting tools to better record and track current and projected materials. Identify overstocks and/or obsolete/redundant raw materials and recommend disposition to maximize availability of working capital. Before planning to order for any “new” item, ensure plan for old material run offs (material return and/or swapping w/vendor) before any part supersession. Maintain query form to showcase material purchase history including, but not limited to, total count of order, total quantity of order, average quantity per order, standard deviation of quantity order, time span from placing order to receiving order. Gather data from supplier(s) occasionally on finalized list of materials (i.e. number of pallets, weight and dimensions) for booking purposes with service provider/carrier(s). Coordinate with service provider/carrier(s) on booking and shipment schedules and advise warehouse and/or storage facilities. Track and monitor shipments to avert and rectify any possible anticipated delays. Receive and verify accuracy of incoming shipments through assigned warehouse personnel/contractor(s). Conduct periodic audits of facility inventory as required. Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.

Qualifications

3+ years’ experience in related field/industry and within a fast-paced environment Familiarity with shipping and warehousing is mandatory Working in a warehouse environment handling telecom materials is considered an asset Proficient in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access database Knowledge in inventory/warehouse management and distribution software is considered an asset

Working Conditions

Normal office environment General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Some travel may be required
