As a Payroll & Benefits Administrator, you will be responsible for processing payroll and managing benefits for internal employees in a timely and accurate manner. You will also assist with payroll and benefits-related inquiries, reports, audits, and compliance. You will report to the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor and collaborate closely with the other HR and Accounting team members.

What you will do:

  • Process Payrolls: Handle weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for salaried, hourly, and commission employees.
  • Ensure Compliance: Administer payroll and benefits in accordance with federal and provincial legislation, collective agreements, and company policies.
  • Manage Deductions: Prepare and remit payroll and benefits deductions, such as WCB/WSIB, union dues, pension, etc.
  • Employee Records: Set up new hires in the HR system, process terminations, and update records as necessary.
  • Benefits Administration: Enroll, update, and terminate employees in the benefits plan and liaise with the benefits provider.
  • Respond to Inquiries: Address payroll and benefits-related inquiries from employees and managers promptly and professionally.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and distribute payroll and benefits-related documents, such as T4s, ROEs, pay stubs, etc.
  • Support Audits: Assist with payroll and benefits audits, year-end processes, and compliance reporting.
  • Project Support: Support the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor with payroll and benefits projects and initiatives.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll and benefits records and files.



  • Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with HRIS software or similar payroll systems
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
