DescriptionLufa Farms is on a mission to create a better food system. We’re looking for doers who believe in our mission and are hardworking, adaptive, devoted, and motivated to keep up as we ever grow, evolve, and innovate to build a better future.As a Greenhouse Aide, you are responsible for the well-being of the plants as well as the general appearance of the greenhouse. In this position, you will report to the Greenhouse Production Manager. Full training is provided, including First Aid certification and jigger certification.Responsibilities•Crop work (such as clipping, twining, deleafing, fruit pruning) and other crop/greenhouse related tasks (such as installation of sticky traps);•Keeping the tools you use in good condition;•Keeping the greenhouse clean and organized;•Part of weekend checklist rotation;•Carry out all activities as scheduled and/or requested by the Greenhouse Production Manager.Requirements•Must be physically and mentally able to maintain cruising speed during 8 hours of physical labour in a hot and humid environment;•Ability to work quickly and precisely without making errors;•Great work ethic, flexibility, and attention to detail;•Must be comfortable working at heights.Assets•Greenhouse experience.Schedule•Full time, Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (35-40 hours/week);•Schedule subject to change due to crop changes or crop health.Benefits•You will also be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental, and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counselling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues)•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.

Compensation

$17.00 hourly
