As more and more marketing budgets flow out of traditional broadcast media and into digital and social, we are looking for a leader who is entrepreneurial, driven, and collaborative to join our rapidly growing and award winning team in Toronto, who was most recently recognized by The Shorty Awards as 2024 Agency of the Year.

 

Strategy is at the core of what we do, and a good strategy is all about making smart decisions

based on the information one has available. Your role will be to contribute to our growing

Strategy practice. You will be expected to translate client challenges, simplify complexity, guide research, shape insights, build approaches, and help steer creative and clients to make our work even better. You’ll be successful in the role if you’re both collaborative but able to work well independently, have a bias for action, are comfortable with ambiguity, challenge team members to stay on strategy as needed, and are a very strong communicator.

 

The successful candidate will have the foundational skills of strategic brand planning and social strategy, familiar with mature and emerging platform behaviors, and at least 7-8  years experience in a strategic function within a creative agency. And we are specifically looking for candidates with experience on luxury brands, or even high fashion. The intersection of luxury and social is an ever evolving space, so we need someone with a desire to apply original thinking inspired by a cultural and brand point of view. Last but not least, we are looking for a master storyteller, where you can use your skill to inspire people to get behind your narratives time after time. 

 

What does the role involve?

  • Taking complex problems and simplify them for our clients
  • Using understanding of consumer behaviour in digital culture and across client category to draw and communicate insightful conclusions
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of social platforms and how to maximize their potential for reaching and engaging with consumers
  • Someone who’s experienced in luxury and digital marketing, and even emerging platforms
  • Working alongside our Research and Insights team, and interpreting data to provide clear and concise strategies for clients
  • Ability to develop clear strategic thinking and actionable narratives to guide our work
  • Selling in and/or presenting ideas to existing clients. Pitching our thinking to new clients. Input into the scoping of any new work.
  • Ability to write and deliver inspiring creative briefs and working alongside creative to execute these
  • Comprehensive understanding of data to evaluate content performance and demonstrate the effectiveness of social

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • 8+ ye ars experience working in creative industries (agency side preferred)
  • A passion for advertising, culture, creativity, content, and social media
  • A background in global brand work preferred, and luxury or high fashion brand and content work 
  • A brand thinker who can think culture first, with an ability to develop clear strategic thinking
  • A desire to learn and proactively seek and share platform updates, industry news, interesting campaigns etc.
  • Good creative writing skills for effective creative brief writing or for strategic narratives 
  • Good communication skills (gravitas)
  • Data literate (quant and qual.)
  • Experience of conducting primary research a bonus
  • Solid people skills: you work and communicate well with others, you can direct and delegate as needed, you’re comfortable leading by example
  • An ability t o tap into fast-moving culture: spot trends, notice behaviour, and dig for insights, then translate them into brand opportunities
