Who you are:  We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results Geotab is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Sustainability who will perform data analytics in order to support Geotab’s thought leadership related to electric vehicles and fleet. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you What you'll do:  The Senior Data Analyst, Sustainability will use strong problem-solving skills with statistical analysis in order to conduct queries, track reporting metrics and analyze data to support Geotab’s sustainability marketing and thought leadership goals. This role will be key in uncovering data-backed insights and proof points for marketing campaigns that help educate internal and external stakeholders on the topic of sustainable fleet and electric vehicles. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter and problem solver with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts.

How you’ll make an impact:

Examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help businesses make more strategic decisions. Apply statistical methods toward data validation of Geotab aggregate traffic-related data against third-party data sources Utilize statistical tools to interpret data sets and prepare reports and technical papers that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions based on relevant findings. Write SQL queries to find answers to complex business questions. Identify any data quality issues and partialities in data acquisition. Coordinate with engineering teams to gather incremental new data. Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop customer segmentation. Work with data scientists and leverage machine learning models that have been developed against Geotab’s big data environment.

What you’ll bring to this role:

Post-secondary Degree/Diploma specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field. 5-8 years experience as a Data Analyst or a similar role. 5-8 years experience with SQL. 5-8 years experience with data science tools ( Python, Pandas, NumPy) as well as BI tools such as Superset/Redash/PowerBI or tableau. Experience working with big data and an understanding of techniques used to extract value out of very large datasets. Familiarity with machine learning concepts is an asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions. Strategic mindset, with a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes. Strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization. Technical competence using software programs, including but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides). Strong communications and creativity skills with the ability to link data insights to marketing initiatives and use data to tell a story. Knowledge and experience with GHG emissions reporting, electric vehicle data and fuel efficiency practices are highly valued.  Proven experience in data cleaning, with the ability to identify, analyze, and interpret inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data. Strong critical thinking abilities, with experience leveraging data to make well-informed recommendations and decisions.
