Oakville, Canada The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners Full time

Our client, in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join them on a 6-month assignment. The position will be working hybrid, 2 days on site at their offices in Oakville.


Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst is as follows:

  • Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Management and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and review significant analyses, reports, cash flow statements, journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process
  • Analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends
  • Assist with preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Prepare the quarterly MD&A
  • Identify and execute process improvements
  • Provide recommendations on accounting treatment for transactions, business initiatives and contracts in accordance with IFRS


Requirements


  • University degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation required
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including the preparation of financial statements
  • Ability to act decisively and deal with deadlines during peak periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships
