We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity at the Allard Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (AHBOC) Clinic, situated within the Lois Hole Hospital for Women (LHHW) at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH). This esteemed clinic is dedicated to the risk assessment and surveillance of women with elevated risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer.We seek a dynamic Nurse Practitioner (NP) who will report directly to the Patient Care Manager for the Women’s Health Program Ambulatory Care Clinics. As a pivotal member of our team, the NP will operate as an autonomous healthcare provider, working in close collaboration with clinic physicians. Key responsibilities include triaging patients, conducting thorough patient and family histories, mapping genetic pedigrees, and performing comprehensive assessments including clinical breast exams. The NP will also be responsible for ordering genetic testing, diagnostic imaging and additional follow-up as required ( breast biopsies, short term breast imaging).In this role, you will communicate both benign and abnormal findings to patients, provide important education, treatment and surveillance recommendations, and make referrals to specialized services such as Breast Surgery, Gynecology, and the Comprehensive Breast Care Program. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
