Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Facility & Supportive Living team. As a Nurse Practitioner in Continuing Care, you will have the opportunity to work in an office setting as well as travel within established geographical networks of care in the Edmonton Zone. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan, integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan
  • Integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures
  • Work in partnership with clients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote appropriate use of health services and inform and influence healthcare systems
  • Participate in education and research activities to increase care quality and promote best practices
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree
  • Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CNA Certification in National Nursing Specialty (e.g. Gerontological, Critical Care, Nursing, Hospice, Palliative Care Nursing, etc.)
  • Meditech and Connect Care experience
  • Palliative Care experience
