Position 1 - Manual Lathe Machinist

Position 2- Grinder Machinist

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour + 10% Shift Premium

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist and Grinder Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manual lathe machining and grinding precision aerospace components to meet strict industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manual Machinist:

- Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools

- Machine precision aerospace components to blueprint specifications

- Work with tight tolerances and precise measurements

- Use various materials (e.g., Inconel, Titanium, Aluminum, Stainless Steel)

- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings

Grinder Machinist:

- Set up and operate surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and other grinding equipment

- Grind precision aerospace components to achieve precise surface finishes

- Use various grinding techniques and abrasives

- Measure and inspect parts for accuracy and quality

General Responsibilities:

- Maintain a safe and organized workspace

- Follow quality control procedures and industry standards (AS9100)

- Collaborate with colleagues to meet production deadlines

- Perform inspections and testing as required

- Maintain accurate records and documentation

Requirements:

- 3+ years of manual machining and/or grinding experience in aerospace manufacturing

- Expertise with manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders

- Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings

- Familiarity with quality control procedures and industry standards (AS9100)

- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or degree in machining or related field (asset)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with CNC machining (asset)

- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles

- Certification in machining or grinding (asset)

- Experience working with precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers)
