This opportunity is with a company in the Professional Services industry. The Accounting Clerk position seeks an experienced candidate in the following tasks: matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity based in the Toronto, Ontario area.


How you will make an impact


- Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects


- Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit


- Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing


- Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes


- Report financial facts to journals and ledgerst


- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources


- Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required


  • BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Experience with Deltek highly preferred
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel
