Your responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for employees on the night shift, Sunday to Thursday;
- Engage, motivate and develop employees on your team;
- Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees;
- Ensure that staff members comply with policies, administrative procedures, safety rules, collective agreements and government regulations;
- Act as a resource person for all employees in the assigned territory;
- Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives;
- Promote safe work practices, by conducting safety audits, participating in company safety meetings, and meeting one-on-one with staff members;
- Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets;
- Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine the causes of accidents that occur during transport and improve safety procedures;
- Participate in the disciplinary process or the settlement of grievances;
- All other related tasks.
Your profile:
- Valid Restricted and Non-Restricted Federal Firearms License (PAL: Possession and Acquisitions License)
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience in a unionized environment;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams;
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record;
- Possession of a firearm licence (an asset) or willingness to obtain one;
- Very good leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and judgment skills;
- Strong focus on teamwork and partnership;
- Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
- Critical thinking and active listening skills.
