The Community Partnerships Analyst will provide a range of supports related to Halton’s Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) initiative, the Halton Region Community Investment Fund, and other priority human service projects of the Social and Community Services Department. This includes activities such as data analysis, stakeholder engagement, grant administration, meeting organization and facilitation, research and decision support, program planning and evaluation, and project management.

The Analyst is also responsible for providing support to the implementation of the Building Safer Communities (BSC) initiative in Halton which is a multi-year plan for community based prevention and intervention strategies to tackle gun and gang violence in Halton.

Duties & Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including CSWB Action Tables where appropriate, to support community and human service planning initiatives. Support grant application and related processes, develop funding agreements, and monitor progress of grants through evaluation and reporting. Acquire data from a variety of sources and provide timely and accurate analysis to inform human service planning and decision making. Support effective planning with human service partners (internal and external) through co-creation of work plans, logic models, literature reviews, and performance measures. Develop and disseminate knowledge mobilization products, reports, resources and tools to support human service planning initiatives, e.g. developing infographics, presentations, briefing notes, and other materials. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles and practice of equity, diversity and inclusion. Support the ongoing implementation of Halton’s CSWB plan and other human service planning initiatives. Contribute to the operations and administration of the Halton Region Community Investment Fund and Building Safer Communities grant. Provide project management support to a wide range of CSWB/human service planning initiatives. Represent Halton Region in community initiatives, planning tables, steering committees, and other community/public forums. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science, Human Service or related field such as Public/Business Administration. A significant focus on partnership building combined with three to five years of relevant experience. Strong analytical, research, communication, grant management, performance management and information management skills. Advanced skills in data analysis and research at both a programmatic and population level, expert knowledge in MS Office. Experience working with organizations on grants. Skills in financial analysis and the ability to maintain and oversee budget documents on a quarterly and annual basis. Proficiency in program planning, performance measurement and evaluation; have an ability to design, implement, and analyze results from surveys and other data collection tools. Possess strong facilitation and presentation skills and be able to translate knowledge to a wide range of audiences. Strong communication skills, strong organizational and event planning skills and an ability to plan and facilitate meetings and group processes. With a high level of political acuity, the candidate must have an ability to work independently and as part of multi-stakeholder team.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

Preferred

A Master’s Degree in a Social Science, Human Service or related field such as Public/Business Administration. Broad knowledge of tools and processes for grant administration, public engagement, and project management skills or training within the human services field. An understanding of community safety and well-being planning and knowledge of a wide range of the human services sector/ and familiarity with Halton’s non-profit/charitable sector. Experience working on community safety and well-being initiatives. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Working Conditions

Travel will be required, incumbent must provide their own transportation. The incumbent may be required to fulfill roles and responsibilities outlined in the Halton Region Emergency Social Services plan. Roles and responsibilities may include coordinating an emergency social services response and on-call duties. Additional hours and shift work may be required to fulfill these functions.

The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Police Record Check by the first day of employment.
