This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Generator at Sheridan team. Reporting to the Vice Provost, Research, the Manager, Communications and Partnerships is focused on advancing the profile, reputation and external relationships of Generator at Sheridan. Working closely with our Centres and the Generator Support Office, as well as with other internal stakeholders, the incumbent will serve as a resource to the Vice Provost and provide expert advice and support to Generator's leadership.

They will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications and partnership development plans for Generator, aligned with the institution's Strategic Plan and in service of Generator's strategic priorities. They will develop or oversee the creation of content that will position the college prominently among external audiences and drive internal engagement and will steward the Generator at Sheridan sub-brand in alignment with the overall institutional branding. The Manager also ensures strong, mutually beneficial relationships are developed and maintained with industry and community partners and with stakeholders across the research, innovation and entrepreneurship (RIE) ecosystem.

What You’ll be Doing

Leading the development, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive communications plans to grow external awareness and internal engagement and help fulfill Generator’s business objectives.

Overseeing the creation, coordination and execution of a partnership engagement strategy and outreach plan.

Stewarding the Generator at Sheridan sub-brand and providing oversight for our webpages, presence on Sheridan Central, and social media accounts.

Leading and participating in the planning and execution of events that celebrate research, innovation and entrepreneurship (RIE) across Sheridan and foster a strong research culture.

Overseeing business development and efforts to raise awareness of Generator at Sheridan in local communities as a potential partner for research and innovation supports.

Providing leadership, mentoring and supervision of staff and maintaining a high level of performance.

Collaborating and coordinating across Generator and with Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing, Advancement, External Relations, and the Faculties to tell our stories and to build mutually beneficial relationships with external partners.

Performing Other Projects and Initiatives as assigned.

You have a highly collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills that will allow you to build working relationship both internally and externally with the ability to work with others to support establishing and achieving collective goals.

You bring a solid understanding of partnership development to help lead the team to meet objectives.

4-year bachelor’s degree in Communications, Liberal Arts, Journalism, Business, Public Relations or a related field study.

Sound experience in communications.

Experience in or familiarity with business development or related practices (e.g. fundraising, sales, government relations).

Demonstrated success in achieving results in a complex, often ambiguous or reactionary environment.

Demonstrated experience with conceptualizing strategies and developing, implementing and measuring programs in support of organizational goals.
