Reporting to the Manager Screening & Assessment Services, thegenetics summer student will provide support to

office staff by performing a variety of secretarial services tosupport the clinical genetics program in accordance with

TBRHSC policies, procedures and standards.

This summer placement will provide a student who is interested inhealth care, specifically in genetic counselling,

with the opportunity to gain awareness and knowledge of geneticcounselling related to a clinical genetic settings.

The summer student may interact with health care professionalsboth locally and from our region.

* Identify the level of knowledge, skills and/or abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job responsibilities and duties

competently

Qualifications:

* A team player that is able to work independently in a fastpaced, dynamic, professional health care setting.

* Good computer skills

* Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

* Good organizational skills.

* Willingness to learn new skills.

* Good attendance and reliability.

* Sensitivity to multicultural clientele.

Assets:

* An interest in pursuing education related to genetics.

Salary Range: $18.00
