Job Description

Reporting into the Director, Operations Platform and ServiceNow the Lead Engineer, will work in a small team responsible for design, development and integration of stakeholder requirements into ServiceNow.  The role includes frequent interactions with stakeholders to understand and design new features as well as support and updates existing capabilities.  Additionally, providing ServiceNow technical leadership and mentoring for the internal ServiceNow team will be essential to advancing the platform and operational model in a sustainable manner

This hands-on strategic role will be accountable for:

  • Providing technical expertise while developing an understanding of the CPP Investments environment to design and implement solutions
  • Recommending and implementing best practices across the ServiceNow eco-system to ensure a well designed and sustainable platform
  • Improving Operational Practices: Leveraging data and operational practice to identify and drive improvements.
  • Building Partnership:  Building strong partnerships with various groups including IT operations, infrastructure, application engineering and business teams to further strengthen the overall effectiveness and efficiency of ServiceNow as an enterprise platform.    

Major accountabilities include:

ServiceNow

  • Actively contribute to the day-to-day technical deliverables for ServiceNow
  • Interact with multiple internal stakeholders leveraging the ServiceNow platform, including Talent, Information Security, TechBar and Service Management
  • Design and implement high quality solutions leveraging best practices and mature delivery methods
  • Create documentation of the design, developments, unit test cases and implementation plans
  • Support upgrades to the latest release of the ServiceNow application in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption to our customers
  • Take ownership and responsibility for addressing the business partner's needs, working creatively and analytically to find solutions in a problem-solving environment
  • Validate that appropriate workflows, policies, standards and processes are in place
  • Collaborate with team members to coach and develop solutions, manage enhancements using Agile methodologies, and continuously improve processes, standards, policies, and tools, while expanding the platform to other areas of the business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering or related field.
  • At least 4-6 years of ServiceNow experience, including application development, workflow creation, dashboards, administration, and reporting
  • ServiceNow scripting experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML and REST/SOAP Web Services
  • Understanding and experience of Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions and all scripted aspects of ServiceNow
  • Experience with various ServiceNow capabilities, including CSDM/CMDB, HRSD, ECC Pro, ITSM, ITOM, IRM, SecOps, SAM, and APM
  • Knowledge with ServiceNow UI and Service Portal/Employee Center through use of UI pages, CMS, CSS and Portal widgets.
  • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow administration settings and deep functional and technical knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and integrations
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment with constant feedback and interaction with the team and ability to work under high pressure.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist or Certified Application Developer certifications are nice to have.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of execution.
  • High level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate credibly and persuasively with the broader organization
